I love making fabric journals! They are a new found passion. I used to love making costumes. I think I really just love playing with fabrics ... the thought of turning a piece of cloth in to something magnificent just makes my day! Here are a few of the journal covers for examples. The art work has been so very generously provided by Tammy Brinkley of Periwinkle Pass Studios, who is an amazing mixed media artist. You can view her world here. However, the journals can also be made with ruffles or flowers or even plain fronts! It's up to you! Although the following are inspiration journals, I also make notebook covers, sketch pad covers, and note pad covers.
The inside covers can be personalized and they always come with pockets for pens and goodies
The inside pages are all very intricate and have layers and ribbons and beads and trinkets galore
There are treasures like book marks inside them tucked in pockets ... and sometimes pockets inside of pockets!
