Putting it all Together

Ms. Fairy Kitty found a forever home on Saturday!!
It's so interesting to make art for someone who is "yet to be determined".  I just happened to be hanging out at The Rusted Periwinkle on Saturday when a lovely woman came in.  She bought all kinds of stuff and I knew from her selections she was an artist of some sort.  I was particularly thrilled when she was interested in Ms. Kitty because she was also looking at Kelly Rae Roberts' wall art.  Turns out the lady is an art teacher and a water color artist!  How wonderful that Ms. Kitty has a home with an artist's family.  Now she will be forever happy.  YAY!

So yesterday's art project began as this:
And by the time I went to bed I had about 10 hours into it ... and it looked like this:

Some things I learned about glass on glass are:
it's slippery! so setting it out to see what it's going to look like is risky!
I love Weldbond glue because it works and it's non toxic, which means no fumes or terrible smell.
it's great fun and I LOVE the way it feels and turns out.
it takes more glass than I have in my collection to do a quilt.
it's time consuming no matter how fast you can cut glass and glue it on.
My gratitude today is for fire - directed fire that lives inside my wood stove, that is.  To the amazing creature who invented fire, to the gifted engineer(s) who created the box to contain it in while warming their loved ones, and MOST of all, to my sweet Paul for making sure we have wood and getting a fire built every morning before I get up so I can be warm, I salute you!  And I pay you a wonderful debt of gratitude.  It's cold in this old (1924) house.  And with winter coming, our little wood stove in the kitchen is my sweetest blessing.  And, by the way, my sweet friend Beth GAVE us this stove when we moved here because she is a good and wonderful person and knew I was freezing my toes off!
What is your sweetest blessing on this Monday morning?
I am going to register for school, meet my friend Rachel for coffee, go to the bank, go to the glass store and come home and finish my quilt window!  I love knowing what I'm doing, don't you?  Now, to see if that all works out - HA!
Blessings to you all on this Monday morning!
